  3. How many fresh tomatoes would be equal to the canned tomatoes? I don't like the canned stuff.

    1. I would just put fresh in a measuring cup that is the same as the canned amount.

  4. I have a concern; does the bacteria from the raw meat spread to the vegetables? I would think that thawing them together would not be a good mix. Perhaps its okay to put them in the Crockpot frozen ...your thoughts on this?

    1. You normally cook meat and veggies together so I am not sure what the concern is?

  6. I work 9 hours a days. Will this be safe in my slow cooker for that time period?

  7. Would it be possible to just throw it in the crockpot for 8 hours directly from the freezer without thawing? Or would it need to go longer? I have cooked a salsa chicken this way, and it has worked out great, but there are more ingredients in these bags.

  8. Sounds great! To make it even easier, you can buy frozen pepper slices and zucchini slices (I find mine at Wal-Mart) so there would be even less prep and it's probably cheaper in the winter to buy them that way.

  9. Silly question.....how can you peel an acorn squash easily?

  11. So do you add the liquid on the day that you're freezing it or do you wait until the day that you're going to cook it?

    1. I add it when I make it. But if want to do it later feel free. I just like to put it in from the bag and not have to get MORE items to add to it later. But that is just me.

  12. So- I know you said you were going to double each recipe. Is this for just one bag or would it need to be doubled to make 2 bags (ex: 4pounds of meet, etc)

    1. This recipe is for 1 bag. With the shopping list you should be able to make 2 bags of the recipe.

  15. About 2 cups fresh diced tomatoes. A can is 15 oz. 1 cup = 8 oz. Or you can use 1 pint home canned tomatoes (1 pint= 2 cups).

  16. For the one can of beef broth--what size can would this be? 15 oz can or one of the huge cans?

    1. 15 ounces sounds good. I make my own so I just add 2 cups.
