I was not overly impressed with it. Not that I don't like it, but I struggled to figure out the story. Why was the boy in the camp? Why was he going to his mom? Where was his dad? How did this Johannas person fit in the story? I really don't understand his fear of people noticing him? Basically from what I understood of the story, this boy escapes from concentration camp (he must be Jewish?) and ran to Denmark to see his mother? He made it. The end. Not impressed. I think there is a movie about it. Maybe that would make more sense. The book I found rather frustrating because I wasn't able to figure out the plot really. Too many questions left un-answered. Anyone else read the book?
